Bride, Body and Building

Who does the church belong to? What is the church? Why does Jesus build the church? What is the calling of the church? These are just a few of the questions we could ask ourselves when we reflect on the church. In Matthew 16:18 Jesus says, “I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

On Sunday we will consider three metaphors of the Church as we live in Matthew 16:13-20. Each metaphor declares that we are possessed and owned by Jesus.

  • We are CHRIST’S BRIDE (Ephesians 5 and Revelation 19)
  • We are CHRIST’S BODY (1 Corinthians 12)
  • We are CHRIST’S BUILDING (Ephesians 2:17-22)

As you prepare and pray for your worship on Sunday I ask that you consider what it means for you to be the BRIDE, BODY AND BUILDING OF CHRIST.

Will you also come prepared to offer your 2018 FINANCIAL PROMISE CARD. The work of Jesus Christ in and through the body of Central is supported by your prayers, participation and financial support. I hope that you will join many in the body of Central and be a generous and growing disciple of Jesus. Your financial support is greatly appreciated.
