Men's Ministry @ Central
Men are encouraged to find ways to grow in their faith and commitment to Jesus Christ. We provide a number of opportunities for men at Central to grow and share their faith.
We are looking for a few men to lead in developing an ongoing ministry for men who want to grow spiritually. Call Pastor Jeff for more info.
In addition to the weekly opportunities other men’s events being planned include:
- Saturday morning fellowship breakfasts with a special speaker
- Servant projects
- Men’s canoe trip in the spring
- An annual men’s retreat

Yesterday Martha, Andrew and I watched FURIOUS LOVE. It is the powerful and dramatic story of God's love reaching into some of the darkest places in the world; Witchcraft festivals, New Age conventions, Sex Trafficking industry, Heroin encampments, the Persecuted Church, etc.. This haunting film will open your eyes to the spiritual warfare that is taking place all around us and will strongly encourage you to trust in God who furiously fights for every human being with the greatest weapon in the world, LOVE.
As we continue in our summer journey of growing as disciples of Christ by putting on the Armor of God I want to encourage you in 3 ways;
1. Make sure you are participating in the ARMOR OF GOD series. Each Sunday the sermons are on one of the six pieces of armor that God equips us with in our discipleship. In addition you can pick up a Going Deeper Bible Study on the particular piece of armor for that Sunday. All of these resources can also be accessed on Central's web-page. You can click on the link on the right.
2. Are you praying about being part of a D4D group? In a D4D group you will join with 3 or 4 other guys and meet a minimum of twice a month to go through the a Bible Study resource, DISCIPLESHIP ESSENTIALS. Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote, " Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ." It is our prayer that in three to five years from now we will have over five hundred men gathering regularly in these life-giving D4D communities.
3. I hope you will join me in 40 DAYS OF PRAYER for THE STORY that we will embark upon this fall. Beginning on August 7 and running through September 15 we are asking that members of Central's body will pray each day for the STORY EXPERIENCE. We will be praying that;
- the Holy Spirit will adjust priorities,
- prepare hearts to make them receptive,
- establish protection against spiritual warfare,
- and foster unity in Central's mission of Making Disciples of Jesus.
I am praying that this week each man of Central will be listening to the Spirit!
