Welcome to Central’s Women’s Ministry.
You are among sisters here! I look forward to your participation in any of a number of ministry opportunities at Central. Also know that I would count it a privilege to share a cup of coffee with you (or cider or hot chocolateJ ) if you would like to hear more about my heart for this ministry. I love getting to know women and know you and I could become good friends in Christ. Also, if there are specific ways I can prayer for you or if you have any spiritual questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a call in the church office, or e-mail me through this website. God has been faithfully transforming the hearts of women here at Central. I am so glad you are considering being a part of this dynamic ministry!
In Christ – Sonja Dixon
Dear sisters in Christ,
Thanks so much for your comments and prayers after my lengthy personal women’s connect last week. You are so generous with your kind words and encouragement. Dan and I had a delightful time in CA- a much needed time to reconnect. Thanks for your prayers on our behalf. Some of you know I have a favorite Erma Bombeck quote. “When I stand before God at the end of my life I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.’” This week I have been reading the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes. Chapter three has the well-known words about “a time for everything.” I invite you to pray your way through those first eight verses. I brought the names of individuals in those seasons to God’s throne, knowing He will sustain by His grace each one in every season. I love the lesser-known verses that follow: “God has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink and find satisfaction in all his toil- this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it.” I hope you are enjoying the gifts of God to you today- be happy, do good.
Here are a couple opportunities to “do good” in these next days! J
A wonderful urgent opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ to the children of Central. We are in need of additional male and female counselors (Counselors – Graduating Seniors and older, Counselor-in-Training – Completing 9th grade and older) for our Pioneers Camp June 24-26 and our Explorers Camp June 24-29. Camp Onomia is in Onamia – about an hour drive from Elk River. There is no cost for you – just sharing of your time and love for Jesus and kids! Contact Kirsten Gill if interested.
Remember to set aside Tuesday, June 5 at 1:30p.m. for our book discussion of Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom. If you haven't started it yet, there is still time because it is a short book. Once you begin it, you won't want to stop! And bring a friend; we love new faces.
Received a message from Michele Risting (good friends with the Sakry family). I had mentioned to Michele to let me know if the Sakry’s have any needs that Central might be able to help out with. She responded recently with the following message…“I talked to Diane and I know they are in need of meals for dinner.”
Sakry’s live at: 13737 210th Ave NW in Elk River
Home phone: 763-441-6340
Email that I have for Diane is:

Please make arrangements directly with Diane, if you are able to prepare a meal and drop off for them in the weeks to come.
So many more good things to experience. I hope you are prayerfully considering joining a D4D group. These small groups of 3-5 women or men will meet about twice a month for Bible study and prayer. Check out the first year book, Discipleship Essentials, in the lobby this Sunday. And don’t forget to review the clcelkriver website for additional spiritual growth opportunities.
Don’t forget to keep me posted on how I can be praying for you. It is my privilege to bring you before God’s mercy seat each morning.
Peace and joy and love- Sonja Dixon
