Dear Sisters in Christ,
Thank you to Maria Dollansky for our devotional this week.
Acts 3: 1-11
Peter and John were headed up to the temple at the time of prayer. A crippled man from birth was put outside the temple called ‘Beautiful’, everyday to beg for money. When he saw Peter and John he asked them for money. They both looked straight at him and said, “look at us”! The man looked and expected something. Then Peter said, “silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk”. He stood up with given strength and was able to walk.
Having expectations is actually premeditated disappointment. We create our own perfect scenarios and expect God (or others) to come through for us in exactly the way we want them to. We set ourselves up for disappointment. We find ourselves weakened in faith. Do we really believe what God says about himself? Now, to live with expectancy is to look above our circumstances, knowing God is in our daily lives. To live with expectancy is to pray passionately, to have contentment in our circumstances, believing that our prayers matter. He’s a miracle working God, and He often breaks through in ways we couldn’t have imagined and at a time when we least expect Him to.
Father, so often we don’t pray for the big things, having little faith in what you can really do in our lives. Help us to realize the expectancy is worth so much more than we can imagine. Cuz Jesus changes our expectations! In your name we pray. Amen
Lifetree Café new day of the week! ELK RIVER YMCA !!!! Wednesdays at 7:00PM in Community Room A. Gathering on neutral ground makes it easier for you to be able to bring a friend who may never agree to go with you to church. We appreciate all your prayers and continued prayer as we move forward in our mission to get God’s message out to the masses who will no longer go to a church to find it.
